Shared Inquiry is a distinctive method of learning in which participants search for answers to fundamental questions raised by a text.
Goals of Shared Inquiry: To develop self-reliant thinkers, readers, and writers.
Norms for Shared Inquiry Discussion:
- Come prepared
- One speaker at a time - no calling out!
- No "put downs"
- Listen to each others point of view
- Challenge the response, not the person
- Respect the responses, even of you disagree
- Enjoy the inquiry process
Directed Notes - questions for each piece of literature will be provided ahead of time, so that you will be able to participate in the Shared Inquiry Discussion.
